Our long-term objective for all marketing is to get young adults to consider Facebook for social discovery. The short-term objective for this effort was to get the attention of young adults in a disruptive, non-traditional way that centered Facebook in a cultural moment.

And the entire activation was FREE. We spent zero dollars on talent, production, and media. The best part? It wasn’t really a challenge. The idea was so good, young adults did all the work for us - sharing and posting about it leading to organic pickup. Each asset from the Facebook Marketplace listing to owned social posts, to influencers to the Drew Barrymore segments - all cost ZERO dollars.
