Overwashing our clothes is bad for the planet, ergo anything that helps us wash less is a good thing. So Uncommon Creative Studio and Ecover created ‘The Rewear Chair’. Celebrating the humble laundry chair we all have, and turning it into the chair we all want; the Rewear Chair got everyone talking about changing their laundry habits.

Alongside the surprising revelation that more damage happens in the washing machine than when clothes are being worn, cleaning them less suddenly seems a lot more appealing. Coupled with the knowledge that this will grant your clothes an extra nine months of life and reduce the carbon, water and waste footprint by up to 30%, what’s not to love?

The actual Rewear Chair was showcased at Dutch Design Week in October 2024. Collapsable, adaptable and made from 100% sustainable materials, this wind-felled cedar throne also features a natural felt insert infused with cedar oil to deodorise the clothes.
